In February 2006 CAMRA initiated a programme to celebrate the impact of pubs in history (Pubs in Time) and the Clissold Arms was only one of two pubs in London to receive a prestigious plaque commemorating the fact that the pub was the site of the first public performance of Ray and Dave Davies, the founding members of the Kinks.
